For a long period of time, we would ride and clock in every day. After a year, when our mountain bike reached a certain level of wear and tear, it would affect our riding experience. If the situation was serious, it could even affect safety. There are many mountain bike parts that need to be replaced when they are "retired", such as the most common consumables: tires, brakes, etc. that require frequent maintenance and replacement. For many beginners, the basic maintenance and upkeep of ATVs are not very systematic. Today, I will introduce you to a more systematic and comprehensive maintenance method.
1. New car running-in period
How to achieve maximum performance and longest service life, and correct running in operation is very important.
1） Running-in of the engine (with a break-in period of the first 50 hours)
1. During the first 50 hours, do not use high throttle (ATV/UTV cannot be operated at full throttle at any time), do not forcefully apply throttle, do not overload, and do not exceed a driving speed of 40Km/h.
2. After 20 hours of use, the engine oil must be replaced in the new car. At the same time, replace the oil filter element.
3. After completing the break-in, do not drive at full throttle. It is best to occasionally change speed while driving.
2） Warm up operation
To maximize the engine's service life, always warm up the engine before it operates normally. It is absolutely not allowed to warm up a cold engine by forcefully refueling, and the engine must be run at a speed of 2000rpm for 3 minutes.
3） Running-in of brake pads
Apply 50 brakes with moderate operating force, with an interval of 3 minutes between each brake application or after driving 1 kilometer. Severe braking before completing the brake pad bedding in can cause damage to the friction pads in the brake. (Every time a new friction plate and brake disc are replaced, it is necessary to run in according to the above requirements)
4） Mechanical connection part
Before using the vehicle, it is necessary to check the fastening of fixed bolts such as the transmission system, suspension system, and operating system. (Especially after completing the running-in, a comprehensive inspection and tightening of the entire vehicle's screws and nuts should be carried out)
5） Cleaning and maintenance of air filter element
The air filter element is usually cleaned every 20 hours. If the environmental conditions are poor and there is a lot of dust, it should be cleaned frequently. In desert areas, the cleaning frequency should be increased. (Recommended to clean every 2 hours)
2.Above 200 kilometers, please check:

1. Check the tightening of each component and whether the bolts and nuts are tightened.
2. Is the engine oil damaged or not clean enough, including gearbox oil (added or replaced).
3. Check if there is any loss of antifreeze in the water tank and attached kettle (the model of antifreeze must meet the local temperature conditions for use).
4. Ensure that the voltage and current of the battery are sufficient.
5. Check if the brake fluid level has decreased (replenish if it is low). If the thickness of the brake pad is less than 2mm, it should be replaced.
6. Check whether the wear of the tires is within the safe range (if it exceeds the safe range, replace the tires).
For this, it is recommended that if it is a Kids ATV, the above areas can be focused on within 100 kilometers of cycling.
3. Warm reminder for vehicle storage:
If you want to store the vehicle for a long time, please follow the steps below.
1. Check if the bolts and nuts are loose, and tighten them if necessary.
2. Apply lubricating grease to areas where metal parts of the vehicle are prone to rust.
3. Check the tire pressure and inflate it to the indicated value on the tire.
4. Start the engine and run for about 5 minutes, allowing the oil to circulate fully throughout the entire body.
5. Apply lubricating grease to the exposed area of the maintenance tool for protection.
6. Remove the battery from the vehicle and store it according to the battery storage program requirements.
7. Place the vehicle in a dry environmental area and cover it with a waterproof tarpaulin to avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures and other natural environmental damage
8. Place wooden boards under the tires to prevent them from getting damp and avoid high temperatures and direct sunlight.
Special Important Reminder:
1. When the engine is running, the vehicle cannot be cleaned. Confirm that the engine has cooled before cleaning.
2. Remember not to use a high-pressure car wash to clean this vehicle.
3. Do not start and operate in enclosed areas or areas without ventilation equipment to avoid the risk of exhaust gas poisoning.
4. Cover the vehicle after the engine and muffler have cooled down.
